INTRODUCTION

A few years back, in august 2005, we had been shocked by a natural disaster that destroys part of United States. Hurricane Katrina was the costliest natural disaster, as well as one of the five deadliest hurricanes, in the history of the United States

Among recorded Atlantic hurricanes, it was the sixth strongest overall. At least 1,836 people lost their lives in the actual hurricane and in the subsequent floods, making it the deadliest U.S. hurricane and the total property damage was estimated at $81 billion (2005 USD), the Gulf Coast of the southern United States was hit by one of the most powerful hurricanes on record.

On August 27 Katrina strengthened to category 5 hurricanes, with top winds exceeding 115 miles per hour (185 km per hour) and a circulation that covered virtually the entire Gulf of Mexico. By the following afternoon Katrina had become one of the most powerful Atlantic storms on record.
